Massage is defined as the systematic manual or mechanical manipulation of the soft tissues of the body by such movements as rubbing, kneading, pressing, rolling, slapping, and tapping, for therapeutic purposes.
Massage improves circulation of the blood and lymph, releases chronic tension and pain of the muscles, restores metabolic balance, increases flexibility in the joints and the muscles, and reduces both mental both physical fatigue. When a person has sore, aching muscle, abdominal pain, or other aching ailment, it is natural and instinctive to touch, press, hug, or rub part of the body to relieve pain.
According to artifacts found by researchers in several countries, massage belongs to one of the earliest remedial practices of human kind. Ancient cultures used them not only for healing, but to improve their sense of well-being and physical appearance.
At the Mind and Body Connection indeed we are trying to prove the above and connect the relation between the mind and body.
